Ingredients
- 2 (20-ounce) loaves of sliced white bread
- 1 stick of butter
- ½ cup Clebby’s Avocado Oil
- 2 cups onion, diced
- 2 cups celery, diced
- 4-5 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves, minced
- 1 pound of sage-flavored sausage
- ½ cup chicken broth
- Parsley leaves, for garnish
Directions
- Cube bread and divide among a couple of sheet pans. Let the bread sit out overnight to dry out. Alternatively, place the cubed bread in a 250°F oven to dry out for about 30 minutes.
- Heat butter and Clebby’s Avocado Oil in a skillet over medium-low heat with diced onion, diced celery, minced garlic, fresh thyme, and fresh minced sage. Sauté until softened, then add in the sausage. Cook, breaking the sausage up with the back of a wooden spoon until no pink remains, then stir in the chicken broth.
- Pour the mixture into a crock pot with the prepared bread and mix until the bread is fully coated.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- To serve, add the stuffing to a serving platter and garnish with fresh parsley leaves.
